Purpose Statement
To develop and deliver HR business solutions that are fully aligned with the Business Strategy and partner with the line to embed leadership, culture, talent, learning and reward strategies.
Operations/ Professional/ Business
- Drive and advise the function on key HR processes / initiatives consistently and to the required level of quality in line with corporate HR policy. These include Learning, Career Development, Change Programs, Manpower Planning, Performance Management, Employee Relations, Resourcing, the MT program and Compensation and Benefits.
- Provide consultancy to the function on managing people/ organization issues within the function (own employees and distribution organization).
- Contribute to the development and refinement of the OD strategy of the Company in the areas of building Employer Brand, Talent Recruitment, MT Programme, Growth Academy and Training and Development framework.
- Guide and monitor the Role profile / evaluation processes in order to ensure that relevant job holders understand the scope of their role as well as the level at which they are required to operate. Advise the function on applying performance related remuneration packages / grading in line with the company guidelines without compromising internal equity.
Management
- Analyze turnover issues and talent needs to ensure effective manpower planning and timely anticipation of recruitment requirements. Ensure high standards of recruitment and selection in line with the functional requirements through the monitoring and control of the process.
- Monitor and drive people development agenda by delivering on Managerial and Leadership development inputs through Learning Manage and the functional training agenda through the Marketing Skills Development Manager in line with the functional requirements.
- Prepare and update career development and succession plans in order to maintain a robust talent pipeline. Also track progress of Management Trainees and Growth Academy participants and suggest improvements.
Leadership
- Drive the function in defining and addressing the short term and long term people needs at an individual and functional level to ensure the function has the right capabilities and strong Leadership pipeline to deliver the business agenda
- Provide coaching on people and performance issues to the senior members of the function
- As a member of the HRLT and MLT , contribute to the Leadership agenda of both functions to ensure delivery of must achieve objectives
Relationship
- Build effective relationships with the Marketing Leadership Team to ensure that line managers take ownership of the p eople agenda.
- Establish a strong interface with suppliers of HR services to ensure best and timely service is provided to the function.
- Maintain a close link with the Regional Offices to ensure full support on all issues that need to be resolved centrally.
Innovation
- Implement HR transformational strategy by establishing a Strategic Business Partner role and shared services concept in the organization in line with best practices from the BAT world.
- Play a lead role in nurturing a winning corporate culture based on trust, openness and team spirit to drive improved performance levels in the function. E nsure that people initiatives are aligned with functional and organizational deliverables.
Essential requirements
Essential Requirements
- A University degree in Social sciences or MBA degree from a recognised university.
- 8+years in a managerial HR role in a multi national FMCG environment where 2 years have been in a Business Partner role.
- Some experience in OD and employee relations will be an added advantage.
- Experience in leading change management initiatives.
- Essential influencing, counseling and negotiation skills as jobholder will be working with people at all levels.
- Good communication skills
